🕊️ The Book That Changed My View of Leadership

One of the first books I read in seminary was In the Name of Jesus by Henri Nouwen. At that time, I did not really like the idea of being a leader. When I thought about leadership, I often imagined authority, status, or being the person in charge. It did not feel like something that fit who I was.

As I read Nouwen’s reflections, I discovered a different kind of leadership—the leadership of Jesus. It was not about power or recognition. It was about serving, listening, caring, and walking alongside others. Nouwen described leadership as an invitation to love and to be present, even in our own weakness and vulnerability.

That idea stayed with me. I began to see that true leadership is not about standing above people, but about serving them with humility. It is not about having all the answers, but about being willing to learn, encourage, and grow together.

Looking back, I think this simple lesson shaped many parts of my life. It influenced the way I work, the way I learn, and even the reason I created this website. I may not have a large audience or a perfect understanding, but perhaps sharing a quiet thought or a small lesson can still be a way of serving others.

This page is a place to collect those quiet thoughts and journal entries—small moments, books, and reflections that have helped me grow along the journey of faith.
